    <bibo:abstract>&lt;p&gt;This study compares the effect of measuring the axial central canal diameter of the cervical spine using a traditional fixed CT scout line vs. a user-adjustable scout line parallel to the endplate. The results demonstrate the large discrepancies in canal diameter between axial images generated from standard scout line vs. user-adjustable scout lines in the most common levels for degenerative cervical spine disease.&lt;p&gt;</bibo:abstract>
