The evaluation of the coagulopathic patient requires a careful history, physical examination, and laboratory evaluation. Bleeding disorders commonly include quantitative and qualitative platelet and coagulation factor disorders and coagulation inhibitors. The management of these coagulopathies that can be encountered in elective and nonelective practice is often ignored.
